Now That You're Dead - Tabletop RPG

Now That You're Dead - Tabletop RPG
5.5”×8.5” - Hardcover - 68 pages
In Now That You’re Dead, you play as a character in the modern world that has the ability to see and interact with the Departed - those who have passed on, usually in horrific and devastating ways. Often, those who have died by way of murder, or other nefarious ploys, find it impossible to move on to the afterlife. The dead come seeking your help because you and your friends are the only ones that see them.
Imagine a world comprised of influences that span the Odd Thomas series of books by Dean Koontz, the Cthulhu horror of H.P. Lovecraft, the chilling isolation of Stephen King’s The Shining, the suspense and loneliness of The Sixth Sense, and the investigational themes of The X-Files.
The Core Mechanic of Now That You're Dead is:
Roll 1d20 & 1d6 Simultaneously.
Add any applicable modifiers to the d20 roll for a total vs a target Difficulty Check. If you meet or beat the target Difficulty Check you Succeed.
On the d6, ignore a roll of 2, 3, 4 or 5.
For a roll of 1, add a Hindrance.
For a roll of 6, add a Benefit.
Benefit adds an additional convenience that was not present before the attempt.
Hindrance adds an additional challenge or difficulty that was not present before the attempt.
